She became popular form drama serials, such as Tanhaiyaan, Dhoop kinare and Nijaat. Her mother belongs to an English family and her Father is a Muslim who served in the Pakistan Air Force. She is the owner of Fat Cat Productions, a joint venture with her husband, Jalil Akhtar.

She had to shift base every two years because her father was in Force. She faced new environment and new school when they shifted to new place. He said that when she got into class eight, she made real friends during her school days. She says, she enjoyed when they shifted that packing, decorating new room and etc. It was fun for her.
